Love yourself. Choose yourself. Prioritise yourself. Be kind to yourself. Sounds simple enough, right?
But somewhere along the way, we seem to have turned self love into an entire project! Morning routines, evening rituals, journaling, affirmations, healing, boundaries, body goals, lifestyle changes… and of course, a never-ending list of things we apparently need to work on before we can truly love ourselves!
And somewhere in the middle of all this, we started adding conditions.
I'll love myself when… I'll accept myself once… I'll be proud of myself if…
Without even realising it, the things we initially chose as ways of caring for ourselves started becoming requirements we had to fulfil before we could actually love ourselves.
And that's where things get even more interesting!
We begin keeping score. Counting how much time, energy and money we've invested in ourselves. Measuring our progress. Wondering whether we've done enough and why we aren't seeing the returns we expected. Apparently, even self love comes with its own accounts department!
And suddenly, something that was supposed to be about loving ourselves has become another set of expectations, obligations, conditions and invisible contracts we're constantly trying to fulfil.
So, when did loving ourselves become something we had to earn? And who decided on all these terms and conditions in the first place?
We're taking a curious little detour into the fine print of self love, exploring the invisible agreements we make with ourselves and the energetic bookkeeping that quietly slips into our relationship with ourselves.
Bring your curiosity, your sense of humour and perhaps a few of those invisible contracts you've been carrying around… let's see what we've all been signing up for!
